Our heritage was born out of technical support for customers in tool and pattern design. This strength has now grown to encompass all forms of support from engineering product design to metallurgical and production advice.
Equipped with Computational Fluid Dynamic systems with FlowCast and SolidCast simulations, our Engineering team ensure our tool designs, production methods and metal (material) selection are as accurate and effective as possible to meet the demands of our customers.
Part of our service is to constantly offer ways to improve quality and reduce costs. Our Engineering team help our customers solve design challenges and advice them on production methods that result in improvements of overall performance and part quality.
We have provided training sessions to engineers, supply chain and procurement managers across most industries in North America, Europe and Australasia. If you are interested in training in any aspects of metal casting and machining please contact our Engineering team to arrange a training seminar.
Our team which include world renowned technical specialists thrive on working closely with our customers on R&D projects to help develop new materials and products to meet the ever changing needs of their customers.
Our involvement in all R&D projects come with strict confidentiality and appropriate Non-Disclosure Agreements for peace of mind. If you have an idea, are looking to develop a new material or product, talk to our technical experts. Turning ideas into metal is our thing.
AW Bell provides its customers with access to both in house and external certified Non Destructive Testing (NDT).
Some of the NDT services we offer include:
If you require NATA or NADCAP certified NDT we are here to help. Our operators are certified to ISO9712 and NAS410.
AW Bell works with a wide range of standards these include but not limited to AS, AMS, ASME, ASTM, EN, ISO, CSWIP, MSS and customer specific. If you have a query on what standard you need to use or if we can comply with a specific standard, please contact our Engineering Team.
We have the utmost commitment to ensure that your parts are manufactured to meet your specifications.
Our accreditations in quality systems, AS 9100 and ISO 14001 demonstrate our commitment to quality in everything we do. This includes our commitment to the environment.
Our in-house quality control systems and processes extend to checking the chemical composition of raw materials before they are released to the foundry, as well as conducting spectrographic analysis prior to the molten metal being poured. Our ERP system can trace individually serialised parts from the start of the process until it is delivered to your door.
Along with our numerous CMM machines that are run by our quality departments, our clients enjoy peace of mind that their product will be of the highest quality and to their specifications.
We are also proud to meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance.
With a strong heritage in this area, our experienced tool makers are able to manufacture tooling specific to your needs. Using a variety of technologies including CAD/CAM, CNC machining, rapid prototyping alongside traditional pattern making techniques, we can produce a tooling solution to work with your project scope.
Our extensive in-house resources and capabilities allow us to assist you through assessing alternatives and ensuring your investment in tooling is the right one. Through rapid prototyping and bridge tooling technologies we can conduct cost-effective runs of trial parts while your product is still in development. With investment casting we can cast a one off to evaluate the functionality of the part and enable modifications to be made before committing to final product design and tooling.
Originally founded as a pattern-making business in 1952, we have built a strong foundation for understanding this trade and how it works for the casting industry.
Our highly regarded pattern-making capabilities with accomplished tradesmen can produce patterns from steel, resin and timber, in accordance to the product life cycle and production quantities required.
We conduct all types of aluminium heat treatments in house, spanning a wide range of cast aluminium alloys. With a very strong technical background in heat treatment our team will design processes and methods of production to suit customer specific requirements. We have numerous special process approvals from aerospace and defence customers for heat treatment and pyrometry.
We also specialise in heat treatment stainless steels, low alloy steels, iron, nickel, copper and cobalt alloys. AW Bell works with a robust supply chain to ensure all customer heat treatment requirements are rigorously met.
Our strong supply chain combined with in house painting capabilities allows for all surface treatment requirements to be met to the highest standards.
Surface treatments currently being offered include but are not limited to chromating, anodising, nickel plating, passivation, pickling, polishing, painting, carburising and case hardening.
